Emu Plains Car Park

Commuter Car Park

Client: Transport for NSW

Stephen Edwards Constructions has completed the design and construction contract for a new 750-space commuter car park at Emu Plains. This project is part of the NSW Government Commuter Car Park Program, providing more convenient access to public transport at key interchanges and helping to ease congestion on roads.

This project includes;

  • 750 additional spaces with accessible parking spaces and motorcycle parking bays
  • a new roundabout at the intersection of Old Bathurst Road and Smith Street to allow vehicle entry and exit into the car park
  • a footbridge over Old Bathurst Road to provide safe and direct pedestrian access between the new car park and the station
  • a 220-metre footpath between the new car park through to the Great Western Highway, improving pedestrian connection between the Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School and the railway station
  • rain gardens and a vegetated drainage channel through the car park
  • landscaping with native plant species and bush tucker
  • CCTV, lighting and wayfinding signage for safety and security
  • provision for future electric vehicle charging spaces
