Miranda Aged Care
Nursing Home Redevelopment
Client: Doherty & Associates
This project involved the staged redevelopment of the existing Nursing Home into a modern 80 bed facility catering for high care and low care dementia specific residents. The work was specifically designed to meet the new Federal Government aged care guidelines which were introduced in 2008.
Stephen Edwards Constructions completed the work on a lump sum design and construct basis over 3 continuous stages. Our design team was headed up by our in-house design manager who coordinated our consultant team and monitored cost and buildability issues.
The residential design is based on single occupancy units (SOU’s) including ensuite facilities. The works upgraded the entire facility providing a new commercial kitchen and laundry facilities, dining and lounge areas. Full nurse call, access control and smart air conditioning have been included within the development.
